Patient Pathways, Metro Vancouver, Kerry PhillipsKerry Phillips  |  Advanced Care Paramedic, Advisor  |  kerryp@patientpathways.ca

Kerry was an Advanced Care Paramedic with the BC Emergency Health Services for over 30 years in the Greater Vancouver area. Kerry has been witness to countless people going through health crises and the vast majority of those were completely unprepared.

“You might not be able to predict or foresee emergencies, but we can do a great deal to mitigate the stressors that compound these situations.”
Kerry started with Patient Pathways as a navigator and now provides personalized Advance Care Planning coaching, seminars and health advocacy focusing on special projects.

Kerry believes strongly in engaging with and listening to her clients needs. Education is paramount, as she believes informed decisions are the only way we can come to terms with issues that we face with our health and our lives. She is very skilled at explaining to people who are overwhelmed with health care issues, what the medical pieces all mean and troubleshooting to help people move forward.

Having supported people in many medical environments, pre-hospital, acute and chronic illness, trauma and end-of-life decisions, she is well equipped to navigate or coach clients through BC’s health care system. She passionately believes that we all have the ability to plan appropriate health care for ourselves right up to the time of our deaths. “Leave a legacy not a mess”, that is, Advance Care Planning, is foundational.

Currently Kerry is working on special projects for Patient Pathways, but is also offering:

  • personalized coaching for clients, or family who are providing care for loved ones with serious and complex illnesses
  • seminars for corporate, private or lunch and learn events
