For many families, decisions about aging, housing and care begin with growing concerns: Is my parent still safe at home? Is enough support in place? Would changes to the home make a difference, or is it time to consider a move?

With a professional background in Occupational Therapy and more than ten years as a Seniors Real Estate Specialist®, Corina Stainsby has spent the past decade helping older adults and their families navigate housing decisions and later-life transitions. She understands that where and how someone lives is closely connected to their health, safety, independence, support needs, finances and emotional well-being.

Corina helps families look at the whole picture and determine what kind of home and living situation will best support their loved one now and in the future. That may mean finding ways to remain safely at home, making the home more accessible, bringing in additional supports, exploring retirement living, downsizing or moving closer to family. There is no single right answer, the right path depends on the individual, their circumstances and what matters most to them.

As part of the Patient Pathways team, Corina brings the housing and transition piece into the larger care picture. She collaborates with Patient Pathways' healthcare navigators and advocates when a family's housing decisions are connected to changing health, frailty, caregiving needs or future care planning. Together, they can help families understand not only what care and support may be needed, but also what kind of living environment will best support that plan.

Corina is also the founder of Heart & Home, a service that helps older adults and families navigate housing decisions, changing support needs and later-life transitions. Her approach is warm, practical and deeply person-centred. She helps families make sense of complicated choices, connect with the right resources and move forward at a pace that feels manageable; with the goal of helping each person live in a home that supports their needs, independence and well-being.
